OPERATORS VOLUNTEER IN HURRICANE RELIEF FOR DOMINICA

Water and Wastewater operators recently made a huge difference in the lives of the residents of Dominica.

OBJECTIVE

To assist Water and Wastewater utilities in developing countries to recover from disaster situations and to build capacity through training and mentoring water and wastewater Operators.

MANDATE

To provide certified, volunteer water and wastewater Operators who can support utilities in developing countries following emergency and disaster situations to ensure that safe drinking water and wastewater management services are resumed.  To further assist by providing volunteer Operators to mentor and train developing countries’ utilities water and wastewater Operators.

Operators Without Borders is a voluntary organization of certified Operators who help their counterparts in developing countries. The volunteers help in three ways:

  • Providing post-disaster recovery for Water and Wastewater utilities
  • Mentoring and training Caribbean utility Operators
  • Providing recycled equipment.
